Marine Diesel Engines
- Stop paying for work you can do yourself
- Learn on a real engine taken apart for teaching
- Understand the systems instead of memorising parts
- Know what “normal” sounds and looks like, so you spot trouble early
- Learn when to stop and call a professional — before it gets expensive
Demystify inboard diesel engines in one day — no experience required. An essential class for anyone operating a boat with a diesel engine.
Working around a Yanmar 2GM20F taken apart for teaching, you’ll learn how a marine diesel actually works, how to carry out the routine jobs yourself, and what to do when something goes wrong- usually at the worst possible moment!
This course is aimed at boaters who want to demystify their engine, maintain it themselves, and troubleshoot it with confidence. It is not a mechanic’s qualification and it does not cover rebuilds or serious mechanical failure — those are covered only far enough to recognise them and know when to hand the job over.
