Kirkland Sailing Club is a great low-cost way to enjoy sailing on the East Side of Lake Washington from our two locations at Homeport Marina and Carillon Point Marina as well as Shilshole Bay Marina on Puget Sound.

Members can reserve boats anytime of the week using our online booking system for their personal use with friends and family.

From beginners training with our certified instructors to racing and offshore cruising, we cater to all levels of experience.

Required Qualifications

Member candidates should possess one of the following credentials:

Basic Keelboat with Kirkland Sailing Club
Basic Keelboat with another US Sailing school plus a 1-hour checkout for $125
ASA both 101 & 103 plus a 1- hour checkout* for $125
Experienced sailors without certifications can take the US Sailing Basic Keelboat Challenge test for $195 which provides a national standard credential by the governing body of sailing in the USA.

Kirkland Sailing Club Membership is limited in number and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Your spot is reserved once we receive full payment and a completed membership agreement and waiver. All sales are final and we do not offer refunds.

Our Discover Sailing Trips are designed for newcomers who want to experience the thrill of sailing for the first time. During the two-hour sail, you’ll learn the basics of sailing from our experienced skippers, who will guide you through every step of the way. Our skippers are knowledgeable and passionate about sailing, and they’re eager to share their skills and expertise with you.

No experience is necessary, and you don’t need to bring any equipment. We provide everything you need for a safe and enjoyable voyage, including top-of-the-line sailboats and safety gear.

During your Discover Sailing Trip, you’ll have the chance to take the helm and sail on your own, under the watchful eye of our skilled skippers. You’ll experience the thrill of gliding across the water, powered only by the wind, and you’ll be amazed by the beauty of Lake Washington.
